PROFESSIONAL NURSE (GENERAL STREAM) WITH MIDWIFERY REFNO: HRM 88/2023 (X20 POSTS)

Directorate: Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Neonatal and Trauma
SALARY : R293 670 – R337 860 per annum, (including benefits)


CENTRE : King Edward VIII Hospital complex
REQUIREMENTS : Matric/Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification PLUS Degree / Diploma in


General Nursing and Midwifery Plus Registration with SANC as a General
nurse and/or Midwife Plus Current registration with SANC 2023.


Recommendations: Computer Literacy, 3 years’ experience in obstetrics,
paediatrics, neonatology & trauma will be an added advantage. Knowledge,


Skills, Training and Competencies Required: Disciplinary code, human
resource policies, hospital generic and specific policies, Leadership,


supervisory and good communication skills, Team building and cross cultural
and regulations, Knowledge of Batho-Pele principles and patient’s right


charter, Personal attitude, responsiveness, professionalism, assertiveness,
team player.
DUTIES : Must be able to handle obstetric and paediatric emergencies and high risk


conditions, To execute duties and functions with proficiency within prescript of
applicable legislation, Provision of quality patient care through setting of


standards, policies and procedures, To participate in quality improvement
programs and clinical audits, Uphold Batho Pele and patients right principles,


Provide a safe, therapeutic environment as laid down by the Nursing Act,
Maintain accurate and complete records according to legal requirement,


Manage and supervise effective utilization of all resources e.g. Human,
Financial, Materials etc., Implementation and management of infection control


and prevention protocols, Assist with performance reviews i.e.. EPMDS as
well as student progress reports, Analyse reports and utilize the information to


improve the health status of women, Ensure the implementation of saving
mothers, saving babies recommendation, Ensure the implementation of the


Antenatal and Postnatal policy including PMTCT.
